Turning life's small annoyances into little cheers.
Masaki Otani, President, DAIWA Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.
Since taking over the company from the previous president in 2002, I have worked alongside our customers to make things, with plastic injection molding at the center.
As price competition with overseas products continued, we took a hard look at ourselves and asked whether it was enough to be a company that only molds plastic. The answer took us back to the origin of making things: talking with customers from the planning stage and giving shape to what they truly need.
To do that, we equipped ourselves to build prototype models in-house, then added a UV-curing printer and a laser processing machine, along with a dedicated workshop.
Now we want to bring those refined skills into daily life with our own hands. That wish gave birth to cheerel.
Kitchen splashes, hard-to-wash water bottles, dirt in tight gaps. We will keep addressing life's small annoyances one at a time, making tools that quietly cheer on the people who use them.
